dark-chocolate-antioxidantIf you’re trying to augment your diet with antioxidants then make sure to add dark chocolate to the mix.

That’s right, dark chocolate is beneficial for you.

Ignore all the people who tell you that chocolate will only cause you to break out and add a few more inches to your waist. You can attain better health with dark chocolate in your diet.

Who wouldn’t want to do that?

It sounds like it’s always easier to eat a piece of dark chocolate than to eat more vegetables and fruit.

Health Advantages of Dark Chocolate

Besides getting good antioxidant from dark chocolate when you bite into a portion of good dark chocolate, you can also expect to lower your blood pressure.

This of course doesn’t suggest that you should eat bars and bars of dark chocolate. You can savor dark chocolate as a portion of a balanced diet that includes regular exercise.

If you want to stave off heart disease then this powerful antioxidant from dark chocolate will help you out.

Don’t try to replace the dark chocolate with milk chocolate though; milk seems to interfere with the body's absorption of the dark chocolate antioxidant.

White chocolate and milk chocolate are unfortunately not effective in providing you with the same health benefits. Unlike dark chocolate, white chocolate is not effective in lowering blood pressure.

Milk chocolate does not have the same amounts of antioxidants, as you would find in dark chocolate. In order to get the same effects of antioxidant in dark chocolate you would have to eat twice as much milk chocolate. Not good for those counting calories and watching their weight.

Cutting back on other types of foods and eating a 100-gram portion of dark chocolate everyday can help you get and enjoy the benefits of the dark chocolate antioxidant.

The best way to enjoy the wide-ranging effects of antioxidants is to eat moderate portions of dark chocolate and other antioxidant rich foods. You will find that not only are you healthier but you are happier.

Look forward to that little treat of dark chocolate by breaking up that portion of chocolate into several pieces and enjoying it as a quick snack during your day or after a meal.

Keep in mind that you need to cut back a little on other foods if you want to enjoy dark chocolate without worrying about putting on weight.

You could also start working out a little more, for example doing a few extra sit ups than you already do.
