The women and men are seen smiling and eating on the commercials, the slogans and songs promise a life that isn’t filled with denial or disruption, instead it is a life lived with modification and weight loss accomplished.

Weight Watchers promises a successful weight loss by implementing the guidelines of their food nutrition guided program that is structured to enhance weight loss.

A Successful Weight Loss Option

Weight Watchers began over forty-five years ago when a young woman in New York brought her friends together to discuss weight loss, sharing support, ideas and encouragement for one another along the way.

These weekly meeting have grown considerably and in those forty-five years, millions of Americans, both men and women, have joined and successfully lost weight.

The goals of the program are still based upon the same concepts as the original meetings. The support for one another as each person struggles to succeed in their weight loss goals.

While the meetings are more organized, the nutrition guide created by licensed dieticians and the recipes professionally created, the basic format is still the same, creating a system that offers everyone a climate of support, motivation and compassion in their shared pursuit of weight loss.

The Two-Plan Option Of Weight Watchers'

Weight Watchers offers two choices in their food nutrition guide that are designed to help each individual successfully choose healthy foods that will enhance weight loss within the body while still providing the necessary vitamins and minerals to keep the body operating in a healthy manner.

The Plan offers an individual the opportunity to control calorie intake by keeping track of point values of each item eaten during the day. This program is successful when the individual counts each point value and keeps a journal of the item and its specific point value over each twenty-four hour period.

The Weight Watchers program has created daily point intakes for every body and weight style; each member must find their own daily points total and make food choices that fit into those numbers. The Core Plan, focuses on controlling calories by monitoring the consumption of foods from specific lists and categories.

The safest list is the “core list” which is comprised of “core” wholesome foods from all of the food groups. This is the list the individual must choose from for most of their dietary intake. However, there is a list that outlines special indulgences that can be eaten with moderation. Both plans are specifically designed with success in mind so the individual must be dedicated to their own success to see the desired results.
