Home >> Hepatitis C Symptom
Hepatitis C infection is the most serious type of hepatitis and is caused by the blood-borne Hepatitis C virus (HCV). The virus infects the liver and causes inflammation. The inflammation can lead to scarring of the liver and can result to liver damage.
Hepatitis C infection does not usually produce any signs or symptoms until a person has developed serious liver damage or cirrhosis, however, there are some individuals who report mild to severe symptoms.
These symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, loss of appetite, weight loss, fatigue, sometimes yellow discoloration of skin and eyes (jaundice) that can appear anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 months after exposure, and other "flu-like" symptoms.
