For many years, I have known a person who was greatly tormented by this illness. At first, I never knew how she felt; and I never understood why she had to let herself feel that way. But as time passed by, I came to realize that her depression is really a problem I should have helped her with. People suffering from this type of mental illness seriously need the help of other people - especially members of their family.

Those who have parents and relatives who are suffering from long term depression must help these people to avoid mental anguish. Although it may be not an easy task, being of help to another would truly help you enjoy a sense of satisfaction.

The struggle to fight over this long term problem is a battle fought by many. Some could have surpassed all their trials while some remained to be depressed.

Getting Back to a Normal Life

For people with long term depression, it is never easy for them to get back the life they once lived. Slowly, they return to the normal process of their everyday living and adjust little by little to the new world around them.

However, people who have suffered hard from this condition may have a relapse of the illness from time to time. Again, only proper treatment and guidance can lead them back to the road of life.
