anxietySocial anxiety is a term used to describe your anxious feelings of (fear, worry, apprehension, or emotional discomfort) when interacting with others in social situations or being evaluated or scrutinized by other people in public events.

It is part of normal development of social functioning in early childhood, but may go unnoticed until adolescence. Individuals vary in how often they experience social anxiety or in which kinds of situations.
